WIP: Drop Stitch Scarf with corn fiber yarn

Back in December, I went back to Connecticut to help my parents move. Cat and I went the long way around to get back to my parents’ house -- to go back to our old backroads short cuts. We did a cute circuit - went to the cute 100 year old health food store (picked up some kelp flakes, full spectrum light bulb, quinoa and some yummy carob cookies!!), went down the back road past the rolling glacier-formed farmland, and up to the old church thrift store that has the awesome stuff-a-bag sales. But we didn’t find anything good at the thrift store, unfortunately. But we saw some cows and hawks and opened the car windows and got some fresh air. We didn’t even really need to talk at all during the ride; we were just enjoying our old ways.

The owner showed me around. I fell in love with this yarn: Amaizing yarn in Mango -- made from corn fiber in beautiful sherbet hues of pink, orange and yellow. I grabbed a couple of balls (probably more than enough, so maybe I’ll make 2 scarves and give one to my sis), and some size 6’s (they were out of 7’s but I wanted to buy them from this nice store rather than a larger company! The sample hanging from the shelf was of a drop stitch scarf and it looked so cute! The owner convinced me that i could do it and that it was pretty easy to do. So, I decided to give it a go. I am still a little scared of knitting...
So, this is a pattern from Stitch 'N Bitch Nation for a drop stitch scarf. My first time doing it and it was a little scary at first, but it’s so fun and make such a pretty fabric. Especially with the corn yarn that is elastic and soft and squishy. I think I may keep this one for myself (it's been a long time since I've done that!) and make another one for my sister.
